Paul O’Beirne founded ORCA HR Solutions in January 2013 to help leaders and their teams improve organizational performance. Paul heads the leadership and organization development practice, conducts executive workshops, and coaches.

Prior to ORCA, Paul worked for 25 years as a senior Human Resources leader on Microsoft executive teams, leading complex organizational change. He set up and supported Microsoft businesses launching in Ireland, India, China, the US, and the United Kingdom. He has supported businesses spanning from Operations, Global Sales and Marketing, International Products to Worldwide Research and Development. As the HR leader, Paul managed merger and acquisitions, divestitures, and global integration of business functions; he and his teams were accountable for overall people and organization strategies including staffing, leadership development and organizational development. At Microsoft, Paul focused extensively on leadership and team development across global and diverse organizations.

Paul is a trusted advisor for tech businesses in all phases of growth from start-up to enterprise and has built organizational blueprints and governance models for complex global matrix organizations. He has developed curriculum for Leadership Training in Global Matrix Management, Performance Management, Management Excellence, Understanding, and Leading Change. He worked with the London Business School to develop a global leadership program for high-potential leaders.

Paul graduated from Smurfit Business School with an Executive MBA, and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership (from Pinchot University (formerly Bainbridge Graduate Institute) In addition, he was awarded a Professional Coaching Certification PCC certification from the International Coaching Federation and is one of the first coaches certified in Conversational Intelligence (CI-Q). He is a certified Master Trainer by the Association of Talent and Development. He holds numerous certifications in the areas of psychometric assessment, (e.g. DISC, EQ, Hogan, Leadership Circle 360), coaching, and organizational development methodologies.

He volunteers in his community and is on the board of Neural Education Development which is focused on integrating neuroscience into teaching and learning.
